It's horrible to have unwanted software roaming around your computer and not knowing what the virus or spyware is doing on your computer. I know from experience that a computer is very easily infected with these unwanted software.

Spyware is affecting many computers around the world these days. It's very common that spyware gets installed on your computer without your knowledge.

Many people get confronted with unwanted popups and often your internet browsing history is captured without knowing this. It's also quite possible that a spyware program is collecting the keystrokes you type on your computer and this information is send to the maker of the spyware.

For example:
- It can get your passwords and credit card information.
- It can record the websites you visit.
- It may cause your computer to crash.
- It can delete or alter files.
- It can consume a lot of system resources or your internet connection.
- It can change the homepage of your browser.

In order to know whether your computer is infected, you have to run a spyware-scan. I made a list of spyware detection and removal tools. These anti spyware tools are very helpful in keeping your computer safe and clean (and gives you more peace of mind). I recommend using a combination of a few of these anti spyware tools, because quite often these tools locate privacy or security issues and fixes them.
